SOME POPULAR WAYS TO USE
CRYSTAL GARDEN

|
choose a small healthy house plant (eg. small tropical, kalanchoe, spider plant, polka dot, dieffenbachia)
place prepared crystals in a clear container
carefully wash ALL soil from the roots
trim the roots to encourage vigorous growth
add a few drops of diluted liquid fertilizer
place plant in the crystals
like most house plants, the crystals prefer indirect sunlight.

Leave plant in the original pot
Remove about 1" of soil from the top and replace with prepared crystals or mix with potting soil (1 part prepared crystals to 4 parts soil) or make several holesin the soil around the plant and fill with prepared crystals

|
|
Choose bulbs that are on the point of blooming
gently wash ALL soil off the roots
place bulbs in the prepared crystals
once the bulbs or plants have finished flowering, return them to the garden
|
|
|
|
|
choose small plants (flowering plants should be in full bud)
gently wash ALL soil off the roots
place plants in the prepared crystals
delicate plants like African violets, cyclamens, and ferns thrive in a terrarium where humidity and temperature remain stable.

place prepared crystals in a clear vase or other container
add water to within 2" of top
arrange flowers as usual

|
layer prepared crystals with soil to reduce frequency of watering
|
|
|
|
Make An Ice Pack Fill a small zip-lock bag with prepared crystals. Place in freezer and use instead of ice in a portable cooler (no melting, no mess)
Potpourri Layer different coloured prepared crystals in a clear glass container and add a few drops of perfume.
